KidSplit, Inc. ("we," "our," or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information that you choose to provide:
When starting a draft or agreement:
- Child age group (e.g., 0–2, 3–5, etc.)
- Custody selections (legal custody, physical custody, schedules, holidays, exchanges, vacations/trips, child support)
- Email address of the initiating parent
- First name of the initiating parent (for invitation and identification purposes)
- First names of the children (used only to personalize the custody-planning experience)
When inviting a co-parent:
- Email address of the second parent
- Optional note written by the initiating parent to the invited parent
When using the Custody Match Report:
- Responses from both parents to custody-related questions (e.g., schedules, holidays, exchanges, communication preferences)
- Payment information processed securely by Stripe
- Each parent's consent to share their responses with the other parent once both have completed the process
When participating in a Custody Alignment Report for Professionals:
- Responses from parents to alignment questions used to generate the report
- Report access by the professional who invited the parents
When using dashboard and planning tools:
- Calendar event details (such as event title, date, time, location, parent assignment, and notes)
- Vacation/travel log information (such as travel dates, locations, exchange times, emergency contact details, and notes)
- Custody override entries (such as date ranges, parent assignment, optional times, and notes)
When using negotiation and agreement collaboration tools:
- Negotiation proposals, compromise suggestions, approvals, and agreement version history
- Agreement acknowledgement and signature records submitted in the service
When using command, voice, or SMS-linked features:
- Command text and related context used to process requested plan actions
- Voice transcript text generated from your spoken input
- SMS messages sent to and from KidSplit, including message content, timestamps, and delivery metadata
- Phone number, SMS consent status, and verification details when linking phone-based access
When joining our waitlist or requesting collaboration:
- First name
- Email address
When downloading our free handbook:
- First name
- Email address
We do not collect children’s exact ages, dates of birth, medical details, school information, or any other sensitive information about minors.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Generate and deliver your custody agreement draft or Custody Match Report
- Generate and share the Custody Alignment Report for Professionals with the professional who invited you
- Operate dashboard planning tools, including calendar events, vacation logs, and custody overrides
- Power negotiation workflows, including proposals, approvals, and shared agreement versioning
- Support in-product commands, voice input workflows, and SMS-linked account actions you request
- Communicate with you about your draft, report, updates, or services
- Display your first name to your co-parent as part of the invitation process and include your optional note in the invitation email
- Share responses with the other parent when both participate in the Custody Match Report
- Personalize questions, guidance, invitations, and drafts using the children’s first names.

All reports and drafts are generated for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice or mediation.
3. Marketing
From time to time, KidSplit, Inc. may send you updates or promotional messages. All messages are sent directly by KidSplit, Inc. You can opt out at any time by contacting us at hello@kidsplit.com.
Transactional account and service messages (including verification codes, security alerts, invitations, and required product notices) are not marketing messages. If you link phone access, standard carrier rates may apply.
4. Payment Information
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. KidSplit, Inc. does not store your credit card information.
5. Data Retention
We store only the limited information listed above, including the data required to generate and maintain your Custody Match Report or Custody Alignment Report for Professionals.
If you use additional product features, retained data may also include dashboard activity, calendar and vacation log records, custody override records, negotiation and agreement history, signature metadata, command/voice transcript data, and phone verification records.
This may include SMS message records and related logs, which are processed to deliver requested service actions and may be retained for record-keeping, security, legal compliance, and dispute-resolution purposes.
Information remains in our system for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve user requests.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting hello@kidsplit.com. Upon verification, we will permanently remove your information from our systems, except where retention is required by law.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or rent your information. We may share it only with trusted service providers that help us operate KidSplit, Inc. (e.g., hosting, payment processing, email delivery, or AI language processing).
When both parents participate in the Custody Match Report, each parent's responses are shared with the other parent as part of the report. This sharing occurs only after both parents have provided their responses and consent to participate.
When parents participate in a Custody Alignment Report for Professionals, the report information is shared with the professional who invited them.
When you use shared negotiation or agreement tools, relevant plan, proposal, approval, and signature information is visible to authorized participants in that workflow (such as the invited co-parent and, where applicable, an authorized professional).
Children’s first names may be visible to both parents inside the service as part of the custody-planning process. They are not shared with any third parties outside the two participating parents.
7. Your Rights
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it
- Request access to or deletion of your information
- Opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell your data)
- Not face discrimination for exercising your rights

8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. Your data is stored securely and transmitted using encryption when applicable.
9. Children's Privacy
KidSplit, Inc. is designed for parents. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Any children’s information collected (limited to first names and age groups) is provided by a parent and used solely for personalization within the custody-planning tools.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
