1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

When using the Parenting Plan Explorer:

• Your first name and email address
• The first name and email address of the other parent you invite
• An optional note written by the inviting parent to the invited parent
• Children's first names and age groups, and each child's date of birth if you choose to provide it
• Responses from both parents to custody-related questions (for example, schedules, holidays, exchanges, and communication preferences)
• Each parent's consent to make their responses available to the other parent once that parent completes payment
• Payment information, which is processed by Stripe

When participating in a Custody Alignment Report for Professionals:

• Responses from parents to alignment questions used to generate the report
• Report access by the professional who invited the parents

When using dashboard and planning tools:

• Calendar event details (such as event title, date, time, location, parent assignment, and notes)
• Vacation and travel log information (such as travel dates, locations, exchange times, emergency contact details, and notes)
• Custody override entries (such as date ranges, parent assignment, optional times, and notes)

When using command, voice, or SMS-linked features:

• Command text and related context used to process requested plan actions
• Voice transcript text generated from your spoken input
• SMS messages sent to and from KidSplit, including message content, timestamps, and delivery metadata
• Phone number, SMS consent status, and verification details when linking phone-based access

When joining our waitlist, requesting resources, or requesting collaboration:

• First name
• Email address

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website or use KidSplit, we and our analytics providers collect information about how you use the site:

• Google Analytics records pages viewed, actions such as button clicks, form starts and submissions, plan progress, and purchases, along with device, browser, and approximate location information. Some purchase and progress events are sent from our servers using a random identifier that is not derived from your email address or other personal information. We do not send the content of your answers or messages to Google Analytics.
• Microsoft Clarity records how visitors interact with pages, including clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement, to help us find usability problems. We do not use Clarity on the page where parents write about their family's separation.
• Google Ads conversion measurement records when a visit from one of our ads leads to an action on our site, such as inviting a co-parent. We do not use this information for remarketing or personalized advertising.

These tools use cookies and similar technologies. See Section 5 for your choices.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Generate and deliver your Parenting Plan Explorer
• Make each parent's responses available to the other parent once that parent completes payment
• Display your first name to your co-parent as part of the invitation process and include your optional note in the invitation email
• Personalize questions, guidance, invitations, and drafts using children's first names
• Generate and share the Custody Alignment Report for Professionals with the professional who invited you
• Operate dashboard planning tools, including calendar events, vacation logs, and custody overrides
• Support in-product commands, voice input workflows, and SMS-linked account actions you request
• Communicate with you about your plan, report, account, or the services you use
• Send resources you requested
• Send news and offers related to KidSplit, as described in Section 3
• Understand how people use our website and guides, fix usability problems, and measure whether our advertising leads people to use KidSplit
• Improve our services

Information you provide to set up the Parenting Plan Explorer, including children's information, is not used for marketing.

All reports and drafts are generated for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice or mediation.

3. Marketing

From time to time, KidSplit, Inc. may send you updates or promotional messages about our services or offers from trusted partners. These messages are always sent directly by KidSplit, Inc., and we will never give your personal information to a partner unless you explicitly agree.

Every marketing email explains how to opt out. You can opt out at any time by emailing hello@kidsplit.com, and we will honor your request within 10 business days. We will send promotional text messages only if you separately agree to receive them.

Transactional account and service messages (including verification codes, security alerts, invitations, and required product notices) are not marketing messages. If you link phone access, standard carrier rates may apply.

4. Payment Information

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. KidSplit, Inc. does not store your credit card information.

5. Cookies and Analytics Choices

Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Google Ads conversion measurement use cookies and similar technologies to recognize your browser across visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking cookies does not prevent you from using KidSplit.

Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. Our website does not currently respond to these signals.

6. Data Retention

We keep the information described in Section 1 for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve user requests. This includes the data required to generate and maintain your Parenting Plan Explorer or Custody Alignment Report for Professionals.

If you use additional product features, retained data may also include dashboard activity, calendar and vacation log records, custody override records, command and voice transcript data, and phone verification records. SMS message records and related logs are processed to deliver requested service actions and may be kept for record-keeping, security, legal compliance, and dispute-resolution purposes.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting hello@kidsplit.com. Upon verification, we will permanently remove your information from our systems, except where retention is required by law.

7. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

We share information only in these situations:

• With service providers that process it on our behalf to operate KidSplit, including hosting, payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, SMS messaging, AI language processing and speech recognition, analytics (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity), and advertising measurement (Google Ads).
• With the other parent in the Parenting Plan Explorer. Each parent's responses become available to the other parent once that parent completes payment. Children's first names are visible to both participating parents.
• With a professional you authorize. When parents participate in a Custody Alignment Report for Professionals, the report information is shared with the professional who invited them.
• When required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.

Children's information is not shared with anyone other than the two participating parents, except service providers that process it on our behalf.

8. Your Rights

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, how we use it, and who receives it
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information (we do not sell your information or share it for targeted advertising)
• Not face discrimination for exercising your rights

9. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. Your data is stored securely and transmitted using encryption when applicable.

10. Children's Privacy

KidSplit, Inc. is designed for parents. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Any children's information collected (limited to first names, age groups, and optionally date of birth) is provided by a parent and used solely for personalization within the custody-planning tools.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. If we make a material change, we will notify account holders by email or through the service before the change takes effect.
